“Before buying my Crisfloat,
I had to investigate all makes available.
The Crisfloat by fax exceeds
all other makes in every area.
There is just no comparison
regarding design and quality of workmanship.
It has exceeded all of my
expectations and is the only choice to travel my horses.”

I first saw the
Crisfloat at the Karaka stallion parade in Auckland. Both
the Royal and Ascot were there.
I had been looking
at floats for a while as the new one I had my horse didn't
like to travel in (spoilt brat). I had trouble from the
start. I couldn't travel him with other horses. At traffic
lights or when the float stopped he would start to strike
with his front legs, not a good look when you’re stuck in
the Auckland traffic and everyone's looking at you like
what’s in the back of there??? He had lots of tricks up his
sleeve, as he didn't like the divider we had to take it out,
so he learnt to sway from side to side and get the float
swaying on the motorway. He would kick the ramp; he hated
any trucks behind him it freaked him out. That
scared me a lot; I wouldn't tow him by myself. It wasn't the
way I drove as I had towed many horses and had no trouble.
So when I saw the
Crisfloat it was different, my partner and I came back 3
times (even my dad was impressed in the way they are made) I
had made my mind I up I wanted it!!! Didn't take me long to
sell my float and get into my new Royal straight loader.
Since having it I haven't had much trouble. It’s great I can
close him in and he can’t see behind him, I can now travel
with 2 horses and much much more. He still gets board on
long trips but nothing like he used to travel.
VERY HAPPY owner and
horse

In October
2006 we purchased a Crisfloat Royal, through the
importer Anthea Burton.
We researched horse floats over a long period of time, and
were amazed with the whole concept of the Crisfloat. The
polyethylene construction is extremely durable and tough.
Cleaning the float is not a chore, and we have found it very
easy to maintain the value of our investment.
After nine months of hard work and many miles, it still
looks like new with very little time and effort. The
interior has no marks from the horses at all!!
We have used it for a wide range of horses, from our Cat A
miniatures, to our Clydesdales up to apx 17hh, one of which
was 16 ˝,hh and 10 months in foal. Because of the white
colour, and large windows it is very light inside and the
horses seem to have no problems loading.
As for towing, we have never had a problem. We tow with a
Falcon station wagon. In the Far North there is no shortage
of steep windy roads, State Highway 1 (Mangamuka’s), and
gravel roads. Never a problem with braking, the electric
brakes seem to work extremely well, and traveling at 90 kms
with two horses, she has never swayed. She corners well with
a load.
We feel very comfortable travelling long distances with this
float, the horses travel very well too, and would recommend
it to anybody……..so would we!!!!
Anthea’s after sales service has been second to none. From
the day we placed the order up to present day, it has been a
pleasure to do business with her. Her knowledge, advice and
professionalism has been greatly appreciated.
Sincerely
Roger Donovan

A couple of years ago
I was looking to
update
my
float.
Anyone who knows me knows that I leave no leaf
unturned when researching any proposed
purchase! A purchase as important as a float for my
beloved 4 legged friends had me doing
more
than this and I have no doubt that I left a
lasting impression in many float manufacturers minds
with my questions, questions and more questions.
I entered into this search
with an open mind and I think I looked at every make
of float possible. Some I discounted relatively
quickly when they did not fit my specifications.
Well more to the point, my very solid 17hh Clyde/
TBX specifications. And my specifications were for a
float I felt safe and confident towing and one that
I felt more importantly addressed the safety aspect
of my horses, from my 14hh Pony through to my 17hh
“big girl”.
I originally met Anthea
through Citori Saddles (but that’s another success
story). She is someone who I know puts the horse
first and I wanted to see this float with my own
eyes so that I could form my own opinion and
carefully consider all my options.
Now to be honest, some months
past and as I had not had the opportunity to view
the Crisfloat directly I had narrowed my search down
to two other companies and the Crisfloat.
Looking for some “technical” guidance I took my
carefully gathered information and fact sheets of my
preferred selections to my mechanic who services a
large rural area and works weekly on a float of some
make or form. His first choice based on the
information I gave him – the Crisfloat of course.
His exact words – “that float looks good - it won’t
rust!” So when I discovered I had to attend a course
up North, I invited myself to visit Anthea and
“inspect” the Crisfloat.
I found a float
that is open and welcoming. It is filled with light,
even when standing inside with the doors closed. My
horses won’t feel claustrophobic or threaten in here
I thought I stomped up the ramp - and there was
silence. No thump, thump, thump that I had come to
expect, the rubber covered ramp makes little noise
when the horses enter, making it even more inviting.
No rattles, no noise, light and inviting, this was
more than even I expected.
Solid breeching
doors ensure that horses can’t force their way
backward out of the float and yet the chest bars are
both adjustable and removable to cater for horses of
all sizes and in case of an emergency. The optional
extra’s are vast and cater for everyone’s
requirements and even without any extra’s included,
I felt you still had a superior float.
The float is so
well balanced, it sits on the road better than any
float I have towed (and there have been a few!) I
have also discovered the benefits of having a float
of substance when towing, more than once, in the
gale force winds that the lower North Island can
throw at you.
Tailor-made with
extra’s to my requirements, my first stop after
collecting my float was to my mechanic. He and his
workers climbed under, over, inside and out - his
comment “I told you so, it is just amazing”.
If you are looking
for a reliable, well made modern float with numerous
safety aspects for both the horse and rider, please
consider the Crisfloat.
It is a dream and
pleasure to own, I have travelled more miles with it
than ever before and my horses come off calm and
relaxed and more than ready for our adventures.

Grand National 2 Horse Straight
Load Purchased October 2006
Far North
I have owned my Grand National
Crisfloat for 8 months now and I would never
go back to what I had before, all my horses love my
float even the horses
that I have had trouble with in the past go straight on.
My horses arrive cool and calm to every show we go to,
they never
sweat or stumble during travelling. I love the storage
no more sweaty smelly saddle
blankets in the car for the trip home!!
It tows like a dream, a friend of mine borrowed it and
only had good things
to say about it, in fact I had a hard time getting it
back off her!!!
I highly recommend this float and I am sure alot more
people will say the
same thing.
Thanks !! Kelly Glasgow

Royal 2 Horse Straight Load
Purchased June 2006
Like many horse owners I often
struggled to find a float to rent or borrow. Because those
I was able to get hold of left a lot to be desired in terms
of space, durability and safety I decided to purchase a
float. I looked at dozens of new and used floats. I was
looking for a float that provided a spacious, stable
platform and one which would be both safe and durable.
Eventually I narrowed my search down to Crisfloats. I
contacted Anthea, who generously offered to bring a
Crisfloat down Northland to the Auckland Airport while I was
in Auckland for a business trip.
Anthea was great in helping me
decide which model and options would be best suited to my
needs. She also kept me informed as the float was being
built and in transit to New Zealand. I have been very
pleased with the performance of my Royal Crisfloat. The
interior is bright and airy. One of my horses, who has
gotten quite stressed in traditional floats, loads and
travels easily in the Crisfloat. Not only is there ample
room for horses, but there is more than enough storage room
for saddles, feed, rugs and tack. The Crisfloat is also
easy to tow, with a very stable ride. I also like the fact
that the large front window allows me to easily check on the
horses while we're in transit. My float has gotten more
than a few complements for its horse and people friendly
design as well! I have found my Crisfloat to be excellent
value for money, and am a very satisfied customer.
Highly recommended!
